Founded in 2003 by David Harmon, the visionary behind wine.com, Carneros della Notte is dedicated to producing exquisite, handcrafted wines that reflect a commitment to quality and sustainable practices. Nestled in the heart of Carneros, our vineyard is meticulously maintained without the use of chemicals, and all grapes are hand-harvested exclusively at night when juice chemistry is most stable. This unique approach, symbolized by our name which translates to “Carneros of the Night,” is further distinguished by our innovative glow-in-the-dark wine labels, the first of their kind in the industry.

Our Winemaking Philosophy
Our winemaking journey begins in the vineyard, where David’s hands-on approach to farming is reflected in every bottle. From vine management to precise irrigation, each step is designed to preserve the natural flavors of the grapes. “I focus on preserving the flavors born in the vineyard,” says David. In the winery, we employ gentle techniques, including cold soaking the pinot noir, direct barreling, and selective use of French oak barrels to enhance, not overshadow, the fruit’s inherent qualities. Our wines are crafted to achieve a harmonious balance of fruit, spice, and structure, ensuring they age gracefully over time.
